To all dog owners...

i admit i am still very inexperience in looking after my dog yuan yuan.. but i'm still learning.. just this monday morning, yuan yuan gave me a shock of my life.. this is how it goes..

me and my bro brought yuan yuan out for a long walk on monday morning.. it was quite a hot day and when we were on our way home, yuan yuan suddenly collapsed on the ground and was foaming at her mouth.. she seemed to be in a fit with her whole body hardened.. i was so shocked and thought that maybe some heartworms had attacked her heart.. my bro quickly ran back to our house for help.. i kept shouting yuan yuan's name and also shouted for help as i helplessly look at her.. i was really scared and thought that i will lose my dog forever.. suddenly, a blue mercedes stopped by the road and a lady came out of the car and asked what had happened.. she quickly told me to get into the car and drove me to the vet nearby.. on the way there, i was so worried about yuan yuan as she still kept foaming at the mouth.. i did not know what to do and started to speak in tongues under my breath but when yuan yuan looked at me with the "see-through" look (the look that dying people have), i screamed in tongues out loud as tears kept streaming down my face.. the lady kept assuring me that everything will be alright..

soon, we reached the vet and i rushed into the clinic with yuan yuan in my arms.. the doctor quickly came to see yuan yuan and said that she has a heat stroke.. the doc measured yuan yuan's temperature and it came up to be 41 degrees celsius.. the doc said that if the temperature had increased to around 42.9 degrees, yuan yuan's brain will be damaged.. we quickly carried yuan yuan to the bathroom and showered her with cold water continuously.. yuan yuan was in a daze and kept looking at me with her tired eyes.. i kept sayanging her as i showered her.. the lady was with me all the while and i asked her if she could give a call to my bf.. she helped me make the call and informed my mom, my two bros and my bf.. after that, i carried yuan yuan to the consultation room and the doc brought to ice packs to put on yuan yuan's body.. yuan yuan was still in a daze as she walked around the room, colliding into everything that was in her way.. i asked the doc if she will be alright and the doc said that only after 1 or 2 hours then she will be alright.. soon, my mom, 2 bros and my bf came.. yuan yuan has always loved my bf alot as he is the one who cleans her cage and lets her out every morning..

after yuan yuan was feeling better, we brought yuan yuan back and gave her a bath.. the doc had told us to put yuan yuan in an air con room for 1 or 2 hours to make sure that she is ok.. so after her bath, me and my bf dried her up and brought her to the office to enjoy the aircon.. after 2 hours, yuan yuan is totally well and even had a sound sleep after one whole hectic morning..

after this incident, i have learnt that i must

1) bring a bottle of water during walks so as to make sure that yuan yuan will not get a heat stroke again.

2) bring her for evening walks instead of early morning.. the evening is cooler for walks.

3) not have walks that are too long.
